Until yesterday,i did not know that strokes were now called a CVR.What's wrong with the word stroke? I do not know the answer, but i assume it's Political Correctness.
It's just a change in medical terminology. Why assume it's political correctness... did you fall into a time machine and end up in 1993?
"Stroke" derives from a use of the word meaning "struck," but strokes are not caused by impact. Science is always interested in renaming things to be more accurate.
Also, I think it's CVA, which stands for cerebrovascular accident, deriving from the true nature of what a stroke actually is (temporary disruption of bloodflow to the brain).
It's like the old saying goes: different CVAs for different protégés.
